about deesha
Deesha Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization working to make accessible, affordable, quality, sustainable healthcare and education.
The work was started by Mr Swapnil Arun Gawande at a very young age. He started creating awareness around eye donation from his school. After recognizing the need for eye banks and eye donation facilities, he established Deesha Education Foundation as a nonprofit organization. The foundation has started a chain of Deesha International Eye Banks, Eye Retrieval Centers, Mobile Eye Care Units, Deesha Netralaya etc.
The organization is working in the field of Organ Donation, creating awareness of thalassemia, self-defence workshops for girls, and capacity-building workshops for changemakers and nonprofit organizations. Deesha also works to influence policies so that it will cater to the last needy person standing.
