A gift of vision to fuel carriers

An eye checkup camp was organized for the drivers and helpers of petroleum transport vehicles at the bottling plant of Indian Oil Corporation Limited at Dhanaj, Dist Washim. The camp was conducted by Deesha Education Foundation through its state-of-art Mobile Eye Care Unit.


In total 175 drivers and 47 staff from IOCL LPG Plant, Dhanaj were screened. Around 91 individuals were found with refractive errors, 5 with cataract, and 9 with general problems. People who were diagnosed with an eye infection or eye dryness problems are advised to visit the base hospital for follow up.

The patients were examined by Ophthalmic Assistant Mr. Mangesh Mahatme, Ms. Bharti Tasare, assisted by other technical staff. The camp was successfully organized under the leadership of Mr. Swapnil Arun Gawande and supported by Ms. Rohini Gawande, Ms. Mohini Gawande, Mr. Shubham Khandare, Mr. Nandu Gambhir.

The event was attended by Mr. Sanjay Bhasme (General Manager, IOCL Mumbai), Mr. Borikar (Administration), Mr. Pankaj Deshmukh (Chief Engineer), and other dignitaries.
