Kids and spectacles—a never-ending battle! No matter how careful parents are, children often find ‘creative’ (and disastrous) ways to fix their broken glasses, leading to bigger problems.

A Real-Life Example of Poor Spectacle Care
Recently, I met a child whose spectacles were a complete mess. Instead of getting them repaired, he took matters into his own hands—applying Fevistick and even melting the frame in an attempt to fix it!”

The result? A disaster!
✔ The frame was warped and wouldn’t fold properly.
✔ Glue covered the lenses, blurring his vision.
✔ Deep scratches made it even harder to see clearly
This situation is alarming because the child had a high power prescription, meaning clear vision is crucial for his daily activities and learning. A child with poor vision struggles in school, sports, and daily life. Parents must regularly inspect their child’s glasses and ensure they are clean, scratch-free, and well-fitted. If glasses are broken, don’t rely on DIY fixes—get them repaired professionally or replaced immediately
So, how can you prevent these spectacle struggles for your child? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! In our next blog, we’ll share simple yet effective spectacle care tips—from cleaning and storage to proper handling and professional maintenance.
